My name is Montserrat, I am twenty years old and I am Mexican from the municipality of Tijuana, so my mother language is Latin Spanish. At the moment, I speak basic English and I am learning the French language.
I learned to communicate when I was six months old, because it was the stage where I babbled, then about a year later I was able to say my first word and after three years I was able to say more complete sentences. Despite the fact that in my house, the only styles we use are writing, oral and gestural in the Spanish language, I was able to develop this language more thanks to the fact that I could go to school and at that stage they teach more how it is that we we have to communicate. Although I still don't feel like a person who knows the mother language one hundred percent. In the same way, I consider that my way of speaking is not the same as my writing, because when speaking I can be very informal, while when writing I try to be as formal as possible.
On the other hand, I began to develop English in high school, because they taught me the alphabet, some phrases in English, the colors and the tenses of each sentence. Later, in high school he had the subject of English and in the same way he developed expressions more, although it was not just all from a studio, because I played music videos in English and that helped me a lot to understand more things. To this day, I am the only one in my house who understands more English, because my family is not very focused on continuing to learn more languages. In the same way, I consider that my mother languageis not being affected, because by acquiring different languages I can strengthen my language. Although my English is not very good, I try to improve and practice more in order to achieve a C2 in the language.
At the moment, those are the languages that he knew and with which he was able to learn different things. Although I have been studying French for a short time, it is very interesting to be able to see how each language is different, but everything leads to the same point, which is both oral and written communication. As I learn, I would like to learn more languages in a few years, such as Japanese and Korean, but when I have more developed my English and French. Of course, without losing focus on my mother language, because I would also like to continue learning more about it and discover many things that I still do not know.
To conclude, I hope to continue developing my language and never lose control of it, since it is the one with which I have been able to communicate since I was little. In the same way, I hope that what I learn over the years is for the good and whoever can teach it, teaches it very well to be able to understand it better and that way I can continue to motivate myself to grow as a person, knowing the different cultures and so on. to be able to communicate in the most correct way possible.
