Dear future me,
It's 6:04pm, 8/27/22, as I write this letter. I'm going to keep this very brief, since it will be a public letter.
First off, if you're reading this, you're alive. This is good. This is very good. This is exceptional, even.
I hope you got into med school by now. How's studying for the MCAT going? Hope it's not TOO difficult- sure, sleepless nights might be the norm for you now, but I hope your mental health isn't too bad. If you switched majors, then I hope you chose a good career path or had some sort of success where you became famous. You've probably graduated college by this point- how'd it go? I hope you didn't do anything stupid at graduation. That wouldn't be great.
Hopefully you kept up your piano playing skills. It comes in handy at times, and it's great for relieving stress. Taking care of yourself, emotionally and physically, is really important. So please do take the time to focus on that.
I just wrote a 1500 word letter to myself (if you are seeing this letter, you will probably remember the other letter) that was delivered 'last year' (as in 2025), which is why I'm not writing another long one. I just want to make sure you're okay.
You're alive, that's what counts. If you strayed off the path on your ambition to succeed, that's okay! Change what you do from here on out, change yourself, help others, be the best person you can be starting from this moment.
Take care of yourself now. Your heart's alive and beating; don't let that stop anytime soon.
Love,
yourself
