A letter from Aug 27, 2022

Time Travelling — almost 3 years

Peaceful right?

Dear You, Whoever, Whatever You are Now, I want to remind you through this letter of the struggles you've been through in your very first days since you left your family, your hometown, to study. Just in case you're doubting yourself or you're in a not so good situation right now because, you know, life will not always go in your way. You wanted to cry because you miss home so much. You've never realized how you love your family until you have parted ways. You wanted to come home. But you can't yet. So, you tolerated the pain and longing. You are going to for a long time. Thank God (u atheist) there are phone/video calls that keep you going. You were always tired because of the walking. You were always walking. You have the constant fear of being kidnapped, stabbed, or be a victim of theft, and among others. But you still go out and wander through the streets of the city. The courage you have, you can't believe. Your insecurities. They suck. You hate your classmates. You hate that one professor. You hate your schoolmates. You still have no friends but you have met two or three or more. I don't know. The only good thing about coming to class is the lady guard in your dorm greeting you before you go. But you still go because you should, because you think it'll be worth it. Just do it, but with your best. I believe in you. Sincerely, Me
