A letter from Aug 26, 2022

Time Travelled — almost 3 years

Peaceful right?

Dear, future me. I hope you're doing well. Today is Friday the 26th of August 2022. Today is the day when I will say goodbye to my big sister. She's traveling to France the next day at 3 a.m. She's going to study for another master's, hoping she can find a job with her future degree. This degree will replace the garbage degree she obtained after many sleepless nights. This country made her leave, as well as other Lebanese of her age. Every family now has a person that immigrated in order to get a fine job and live a normal life with the basic needs of water, electricity, bread, and education. Yesterday was my last day at my graphic design job, where I work 7 days per week with a 250 USD monthly salary, including transportation, that costs a lot. I could not stop crying... I woke up early this morning with super swollen eyes. I hid my eyes and waited for my family to go out of the house so I could get up and put some ice in.  I only have one message, I hate you 🇱🇧 for taking away my sister, for separating families and friends. I HATE YOU.
