A letter from Aug 25, 2022

Hi, I started this letter as something serious however what benefit will an 18 year old me get from reading some mopey teenagers essay. I thought, with all this happiness we’re currently surrounded by, I might as well make it worth your while. From community charity service to being an advocate and ambassador of equality and self-love, we can both agree how far you’ve come. I don’t know how you did it but you managed to complete that 2 day hike with that heavy bag bigger than your scrawny 14 year old frame (busted your feet while doing so but I know, something athletic? How shocking, so out of character for me). Although some of your current friends have moved on, I’ve decided this will be the year of change (you can judge just how much of that promise I delivered-) Just know I’ll be laughing at the thought of you cringing at my soon to come social interactions during this new school year. I hope you still enjoy art and music as much as you appreciate it’s impact now. Assuming he hasn’t left you, you can show this to your boyfriend so he can relentlessly bully your past choices for a silly goose looking *** like u to write this little letter.
