A letter from Aug 14, 2022

Dear Future Self, It’s currently 10 am and well I’m writing this letter to you, not by choice. It’s for an assessment that I’m doing for English. How are you doing? Are you doing ok? I presume you’re doing just fine. I have high expectations for you. They seem impossible to accomplish now but what is life without challenges. Career wise, you did become what I dreamt of being right? You still have that academic attitude right? Or did you somehow lose your way to success and slack off? Please give me good news because I’m overthinking again. You went to Otago University. It wasn’t a question but more of a trip down memory lane. A recap per se to help jog back your university memories. Future self, did you get your bachelor’s degree in science? So you can achieve your dream career to be a forensic pathologist, hm? I just know payday is going to rain money and I’m going to enjoy every moment of it. Live out your Michael M. Baden life, just thinking about it is so exciting. I want you to be in control of your life, not your life taking over you, got it? I want you to be happy with your achievements instead of regretting what you could have done differently. I want you to do things that you couldn’t do in high school. Live your life, the way you wanted to when you were younger Richie Rich wannabe. My biggest aspiration is traveling. I wonder how much of our world has changed. Is it still lifelike or should I just give up now? Is Covid-19 still a big issue? I hope not because I’m finally going to be able to travel on my own, with my own money so I can’t be locked up in our modern tower. That would curse my adulthood! I’m praying for good news as of right now. I want to see Greece and Singapore. Greece is beautiful, a sight for sore eyes and Singapore, well that’s a secret I’ll never tell. Visit all the locations that you pinned on Pinterest, don’t put my blood, sweat and tears into waste and make an effort of accomplishing your 16 year old aspiration. OH! Remember to take photos for memories, I know you dislike taking photos but do it for me please? (sad face) Thirty years old, that means you have fourteen years to accomplish every goal you had set for yourself. Most people are probably still lost but you know you aren’t like them. You always knew what you wanted and I believe in you( number 1 fan of yours) I’m not looking to get married that’s for sure but it’s a beautiful thing when it’s with the right person. I think getting married at the age of 28 is the right age, enough time to live your single life before you commit to someone else other than yourself. I do want children of my own, I do want to start a family with the person I love. I can’t imagine you want a big wedding, I mean as of right now “big weddings” are far away from what you want. A small simple wedding with your family and friends to witness sounds homelier than a Prince William wedding, made for the public to see. Please don’t be spending all your money like your Bill Gates, when your day is over you are BROKE. Broke honey, so spend your money wisely. While I wait, I’ll be sure to sort my own life out before it’s time to walk down the aisle. It’s kind of weird that I’m writing a letter to you. Even though you are never going to read it. I’ll probably won’t even remember this once I click on submit on google classroom to hand in this assessment. Obviously what I say, won’t all happen in order but I do hope you live the life your present self dreamt of or even better. If you do change, I hope it was for you not for someone else. Just remember there’s no limit to your happiness, you’ve made it this far. I don’t see why you should stop, you are nearly there. Just a little bit more and you have reached the finishing line. I promise to you that I will do all that I can for you, so you as my future self can complete the new level of life. Make us proud. P.S its a letter I made in year 12 for an english assessment :\
