A letter from Aug 11, 2022

Dear FutureMe, Hi! I'm almost 14, wow. Eoin tested positive for covid yesterday, so he won't be included in the birthday celebrations, oh well. I'm waiting for my chocolate cake to bake right now, I plan on making it a sheep. I got white fondant and I hope to make a face and the details with it, and do swirly buttercream for the wool. It does sound like quite a challenge, but I don't think it will be too bad. We filled up the pool and we are waiting to go in it too, as its very hot, an "August heatwave" as they call it! How strange that is, since we usually have the better weather in June and July, but I guess climate change is the elephant in the room. I'm excited to go into Second Year, but I hope I have a good timetable! I don't think my first year one was too bad, but I think I'd prefer to avoid a double religion first thing on a Tuesday 😬. It's funny how your favourite and least favourite days can change just because of it. I used to dislike Wednesdays in primary school, but having a good timetable on Wednesday last year meant that if we got through Monday and Tuesday which weren't great, it meant that we could relax and catch up on Wednesdays, before looking forward to Thursday and Friday. Anyway, you probably have that all forgotten, but who could dismiss a reminder! Good luck next year, I wonder if your dreams are the same, or did Ms Lynch inspire you? Right now, I want to become a pediatrician, but midwifery has also interested me. I also have a teacher, of some sort, as a back up. What about you? How are you keeping? My friends right now are Gemma, Clodagh, Aisling, Mary, Elenore, Bríd and a few others close, but I bet that sort of thing will change. Wishing you all the best, future me, Me. Or you? I hope you got through it okay, we got rid of Brire this year, along with her two friends. How is Shelly doing? And the rest, which I don't know about?
