Hello There! Yes, I’m doing another one of these, for some reason. Yeah, I’m bored as **** right now lmao. You’d be surprised how much new **** gets announced in two months. Well, you wouldn’t be surprised, since you’re literally me three and a half years from now, and you’ve probably got a helluva lot more than what I’ve got to say now. The last one of these you got was… what, 2024? I guess this makes this the third year in a row that you’ve received one of these from your good old past self. I even made this one longer for you, so you can waste more valuable time reading about things you already know! And the last one I sent was about three months before I sent this one, way back in April of 2022. A lot has happened since then.
On the side of media, several major conventions just happened, namely Star Wars Celebration and San Diego Comic Con, and oh boy, did they go absolutely bananas. Speaking of bananas, Minions: The Rise of Gru was certainly one of the movies that was made. Did Despicable Me 4 (2024) manage to live up to that legendary reputation?
That’s besides the point. ANYWAY, Lucasfilm announced… a few big things at Celebration. They dropped a first look at Andor, which is coming out next month (from when I’m at), and it’s slated to have two 12-episode seasons, the latter of which spanning over four years, directly leading into Rogue One (which, at the time of writing this, is my favorite movie of all time). I wonder when the second season releases, since Disney+, and all other major streaming services for that matter, don’t seem to follow a consistent yearly seasonal schedule like most cable TV does. They also announced Mando’s third season, which is slated for February 2023. I feel like that’ll be pretty good, but at the same time, I’m afraid that, with the consequences created by the ******** that was The Book of Boba Fett, it might not be as good as it could/should be. They also announced that Ahsoka would be a 2023 release. That one I’m especially worried about, since I haven’t really been too fond of the Mandoverse’s portrayal of the titular character. But y’know, it’s also supposedly gonna have Thrawn in live-action, so that’s a win in my book. And they also announced Tales of the Jedi for Fall 2022, Visions Season 2 for Spring 2023, and confirmed Bad Batch Season 2 for Fall 2022. We Star Wars fans are gonna be eating good this next year or so. There’s also a few more shows in earlier stages of development, but we don’t know much about them. The shows in question? The Acolyte, Lando, Skeleton Crew, Young Jedi Adventures, and definitely NOT Rangers of the New Republic. Also now we know for sure that Rogue Squadron sure as hell ain’t making the 2023 release, and now KK wants Taika Waititi’s film out by that point instead (though that’s not looking likely either). I’m not even sure if Star Wars will have come back to the big screen by the time you get this. At the rate we’re going, I wouldn’t be surprised if we didn’t get ****. However, one thing’s for sure. We’ll definitely be getting a very big piece of media as soon as early 2023. Something we’ve waited a long time for. The long awaited sequel to Jedi: Fallen Order, now confirmed to be called Jedi: Survivor. This… this does put a smile on my face.
SDCC, on the other hand, might’ve been even better than SDCC 2019, which was already massive. I would say that they can’t top this year, but I said that about 2019, and here we are now. Let’s see how that ages this time. But oh my ******* god, Marvel Studios… they went *******. Phase 4 ends THIS YEAR? The entire ******* MULTIVERSE SAGA will end as soon as 2025 (there’s a reason I’m sending it to you in that particular year lmao)? Yeah, they’re crazy. Blade was confirmed for November 2023, Fantastic Four was confirmed for November 2024, Daredevil was confirmed to be getting a new show in the Spring 2024, and they even announced a bunch of new films. In May 2024, we’ll be getting the fourth Captain America film, which will serve as a follow-up to The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. We now know it’s called Captain America: New World Order. Two months later, in July 2024, we’ll get Thunderbolts. Then in both May and November of 2025, respectively, we’ll get not one, but TWO AVENGERS FILMS IN ONE YEAR. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty in May, and Avengers: Secret Wars in November. That’s the stuff I really wanna hear about.
Now I’m gonna go into uncharted territory (for me at least). Speculatory stuff, y’know? Like Fortnite, and the state it’s in by the end of 2025. We all know that Epic never announces anything in advance. By this point we’d be in… Chapter 4 or Chapter 5, right? Would it even work that way anymore? Would it even be a battle royale? How can that even work now that the I.O.’s gone? Are The Seven just gonna turn on us and trap us in the Loop so the game can continue existing? Or does it become something new? Something different? And do they actually start to do more stuff with the Star Wars collabs? Do we get the OT trio as skins? Oh and JoJo. Do we get a collab with JJBA? I sure hope so. I’d very much like to use 『STAR PLATINUM: ZA WARUDO』to beat the everloving **** out of those sweaty *****-*** *************. Oh, and do we finally get to a glorious point in which Season X is finally here again, and the world is destabilizing - fast?
But now, onto the last (probably) paragraph of what is objectively the longest one of these letter email things I’ve written (I literally skipped dinner to finish this and mom tried to guilt me into not doing that but I did anyway), personal life stuff. So, we finally got a house, that one with the movie theater. We’re moving into it in September. You’re probably well aware of that though, since you’re probably living there. Actually, no, you’re probably not. You’re probably in college at this point, and ideally, not commuting every day. Which college do I- you- get into? Kutztown? DeSales? William Paterson? Somewhere else entirely? If the latter, is its film program any good? Also, where do you work? I’ve applied to a couple of places recently, they’ve all been ignoring me though.
And of course, I’ve gotta finish this out with the most important part of all: the LEGO collection. As of today, 29 July 2022, I currently have 251 sets and no money to buy any more with. Although I do plan on exchanging my tons of piles of spare pieces for cash money which I can use to buy more sets, especially since the summer 2022 wave comes out in like three days. I wanna get the Inquisitor Transport Scythe, the Ambush on Farrix, and AT-TE relatively early on. I wonder what great sets exist by the end of 2025, based on all the new Star Wars and Marvel content. I’m gonna make a rough guess and assume that, when you receive this, you have over 400 sets. Let’s see how well this ages. I sure hope the our capitalist society doesn’t **** you/me over, ruining all hopes of expanding OUR glorious collection. Though, after watching several 20-minute videos about a relatively unknown, yet all-powerful investor firm (or something) called BlackRock, I think it’s safe to fear for the worst.
Who knows? Maybe we’ll be living in some crazy awful dystopia by the point you get this. At the rate the world is going, I wouldn’t even doubt it. The economy is going to ****, the world is going to ****. But y’know, at this point, all I can do is guess. That’s all I’ve got for today. I suppose I’ll end this the way Andy always ends each chapter of the Chronicles (by the way, does that still exist?), with a quote.
“Arrivederci.” - Bruno Bucciarati, c. 2001 A.D.
