Dear Me,
Let's see, I read some other letters others have posted around here and wow. They're touching. They list out their goals, their grievances, the best and worst days of their lives. I have nothing like that to share with you but I hope that when this reaches you, you will have experienced it all. Everything absolutely everything. I know you, you can do anything. Truly, you can get through anything thrown at you because you're you. I'll tell you all the things you currently are and all the things you will be because, everything you've been taught and learned will stick with you.
You're intelligent. Forget about your grades they are only based on effort and good teaching. I know you dislike putting effort into things you don't like which is quite alright. I hope you keep that spark and have the freedom to step away from anything not to your taste. You're smart enough to know yourself and I know you can only grow wiser.
Now, say what you want but you are truly strong. I know you play mind games with yourself and often feel the weight of your own thoughts but that brain of yours functions just fine. Mentally, you can do anything and help anyone. You have the right ideas, the right mindset, the right mannerisms, everything absolutely everything. Take pride in yourself and your thoughts because they make you.
Your looks, are alright. Maybe if you learn a little makeup you'd look even better but you and I know our laziness. I currently have no interest in learning but maybe along the road you'll pick it up. But really I know you get down sometimes because of your appearance but I also know you look at yourself in the mirror and like what you see every now and then. I like how I how look, no need to change anything. It's the face your parents gave you so cherish it. The pretty curly hair your mother gave you and even the bushy little eyebrows from your father. I like them. I hope you feel the same and even have the confidence to show it.
You're an amazing person. You're pretty funny and nice. You've always been these things and have only ever gotten better. Your humor has developed, your outlook and understanding of the world has only made you kinder. If I look at my past self right now, she was kinda mean sometimes and also kind of annoying. But I only see that now. It's good that I'm kinder and less annoying but I know younger me didn't care and just enjoyed how she was regardless. I never did anything bad mind you, I was as annoying and as mean as a kid could be. I suppose everything else comes with age.
You're good at handling all kinds of people. You've seen a variety of them and how they act and feel. You understood every single one of them that allowed you to. Betsy, my bestie. She has her problems here and there but you're always there to help and offer her the best advice in the world. She's the whole reason I have this outlook on myself. She's the reason why I take this "talent" with pride. Really you're able to get along with anyone who'd let you. But you aren't outspoken or confident until you actually know someone and you're even quite selective. People have to come to you, and they never really do. You put no effort so of course you get no return. Not like you care for it but overall, I hope you realize the world is yours as much as it belongs to anyone else. Live in it. Be a bit more outward and don't cower. You don't care and neither do others. Take your world.
Currently, you have no real world experience but I'm working towards getting that part of my life started. When you see this, you'll be living in it. Keep yourself in mind, and do as you please. I feel that you can never do wrong, you always know what's right. Youre only missing the motivation and actually, just by writing my thoughts here to you I'm feeling a drive as well. I'll do my best. You keep doing your best since I know you already are. ❤️
