A letter from Jul 12, 2022

Dear Regina of the future, Congratulations on Graduating!! It’s been a long 4 years or short, I’m not sure but I’m proud of you. How are you? How are you feeling about going off to the adulting world? Are you still attending Tampa Bay Technical Highschool? When you first came into Highschool your first thought was “I’m going to have no friends” because of the different, colorful and bold personalities here. I hope you got through it cause right now this feeling is lonely.. What kind of classes did you take? AP? Honors? I hope you got the good classes our goal was to get a high GPA (4.0 or higher) so we can get into a decent or good college. I really wanna do track as a sport. Did you sign up for track? Do track!! What about that class rank? My goal was Top 5. Not valedictorian, I cannot talk in front of a class to save my life. Well if you get bold over the span of 4 years, go for it. 🤷🏾 Oh yeahhh, also I want you to change.. for the better. Whitney told me yesterday that I need to get out my bad habits. Stand up for yourself, speak up if it’s something you don’t like, try to start conversations, make friends, make memories, and STOP caring about what people think of you. I feel like it’s a lot but I know you can handle it! I also wanted to ask about any awards you’ve received, like an art award. I’ve always dreamed of being up there with the artists and drawing stuff, y’know? But if you realize that’s not something you wanna presume in life then that’s fine too! What other field did you go for instead? Does Dad still pester you about of job options you’re not interested in? Tell him to stop and be stern. It’s irritating. Any job you have? Earn a little money to the side to buy clothes n’ all that good junk? I wanted to work at a bakery but I’ll let YOU decide on that. Certifications you’ve gotten? I don’t really understand what that is but did you get one? I wanna feel special n’ shii. Err.. what about club officer positions? I’m not looking to be president or non, but maybe in the financial department? What College or University did you get accepted to? I have no idea what College I want to attend.. don’t wait till the last minute to reply. Try to find one by the end of freshman year. I always tell Mom about scholarships when attending College. Last thing I wanna do is put them into debt cause College is pricey asf. 😕 Are you still friends with Alexandra and Iyanna or did you make any new ones? My worst fear is us drifting apart to new friend groups. The seniors told me about having the best of friends but their in different career fields, make sure it’s like that with them. I’m a bit nervous to meet you in 4 years cause I don’t know what you’re gonna be like. I hope you’re still a good person and you don’t vape n’ all that nasty ****. You can be confident but don’t do that crap, it’s not good for you. Well I can’t think of anymore questions to ask but I’m counting on you! Do it for me, for us, whatever!
