Time Travelled — about 4 years

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, You are 18. I've read so many letters speaking of things they wish to and to not accomplish. I don't know what to say. I'm here, in my bed, hoping to come with somthing poetic to say. But what else is there to say? America, the country you held such a love for is falling apart at its seams. With RoeVwade getting turned over, and women losing the rights to their own body, I can't say that I want to stay. People always say that the apocalypse is coming, I've yet to belive that when all I can see Is how akin the present is to those sifi movies speaking about corrupt governments and all. I've never liked forming opinions, maybe it's how hard it is to form those complex thoughts into actual sentences. I do think, however, that the impending fear of disappointing somone or starting a fight with somone I care for over an opinion stumps my desire to speak upon my own thoughts. I can't say I'm scared, nor can I say that I feel safe. The approaching steps of what I see to be monsters of the dark don't assist me. I find myself to be easily influenced, most for the worse than the better. I end up changing myself in an attempt to seem more likable, often loosing my sense of self in the confusing waves of the ocean. I'm tired, not really tired of the world, just simply tired, physically. I think that there's so many possibilities of what happens could be that we don't stop see if it's what should be. I know I'll find myself In a future where corrupt governments is all my children will know. Maybe gas masks will already become a norm as we suffocate ourselves and our earthly companions. We, as a person, are constantly searching for things to explain to us who we are. Weither in short quizzes pr in detailed explanations given by therapists. We are always hungry for somone to tell us who I am. I think the lack of understanding of one's self is akin to our own form of torture. It's a craving, ampuntable to the need to create that humans seemed to have acquired a taste for. There are so many things I wish to tell you my sight upon, but the need to sleep, to drink and to eat seems to impede upon that desire. As the months go on, diffrent letters shall be sent, and as the years progress you will hear more of my thoughts on our current world. I may be 13, but I've seen enough to have a basic understanding of me and our home. With many thanks, and a truck of curiosity, -Tommy, Aka Juno.
