Dear Riley.
It has been exactly 4 years since I am writing to you. I am 13 and I will be 14 in seven days.
Its your past self speaking to you. You might not remember typing this or you may not even be in the same house in which you typed it. (Tanya/Dad's house). Dad and Tanya are getting married in only a few weeks, and I'm super excited about it. I'm also going to be in high school. I want to tell you something. I want you to remember all of the fun you had as a kid. Me, (almost) turning 14 this year has had a lot of fun being someone who can still play around and doesn't have to worry about many responsibilities. I hope you still play D&D. Please still be playing trombone, or tuba. I'm sure you're gonna be great at it. When you read this, tell mom I said hi. And to top it all off, if you're in a bad spot, just remember: Keep at it. Keep being yourself. Also tell Sissy I said hi.
See you then,
Riley J. Smalley
