Dear Graduated Lucie,
Oh my god. You graduated! I’m so so proud of you!
I can’t believe in four years I’ll be receiving this email congratulating me on graduating. I can’t believe it because it seems to far away for my 14 year old brain. But in reality, it’s only four years away. It’ll go so fast, and that kind of scares me.
Today is the first day of summer, I’ll be going into high school in a few months. Even high school blows my mind because of how far I always thought it is from actually happening.
You better be so proud of yourself, Lucie. You worked so so hard. I know you usually downplay your accomplishments, but this is huge. This is a new chapter of your life. The chapter where you pick who you want to be, what you want to do, etc. I can’t even express how proud of you I am.
I currently don’t know what I want to do work wise yet, so I hope I’ve found something I’m passionate in. And if not, that’s okay. Mom didn’t know what she wanted to do when she was in college. COLLEGE! Oh you’re going to college. Oh that’s sounds so scary! But exciting! You get to decorate your dorm! I wonder where you’ll pick to go. All I hope is that you’re happy with where you’ll go and what you’ll do.
By the time you get this, prom will be over. Ahhhh I wonder what you chose to wear. I hope it was so pretty. Did you go with a date?? Oooh Lala! Do you have a boyfriend yet? I hope so! He better be treating us right! It’s crazy that so many things will be done and completed by the time you get this.
I just really hope high school treated you well. I hope you made the best of it. I also really hope you’re happy. Why? Because you deserve to be. We usually downplay literally everything we do and deem it as “not good enough”, but maybe it is good enough. Maybe you ARE good at things. Well not maybe, because you are. The only thing we’re missing is actually thinking that way.
I love you so very much. You deserve the world.
GOOD LUCK WITH EVERYTHING!!
- Past Lucie
