Dear FutureMe,
Oh boy. Sup. Just finished reading our letter from sophomore year of high school to hs `graduation. I actually am writing this before heading to senior sunset. Boy that was long ago for you, huh? Do you have a beard now? I want one. **** man.
Where do I even start? Graduation is tomorrow night. Will I cry? Maybe, probably. There's so much I'm gonna miss about high school. All the football and basketball games, all my friends, goofing off in class. Was running start worth it? I kinda feel like I'll look back and think I missed out on a lot of high school, because I was never at Hanford. That's wild. I'm really not sure what to say in this letter, since it's not getting delivered to you until college graduation. About that, I set the date as January because I'm not sure if I'm gonna graduate college in winter or spring.
Tell me all about Montana, and Bozeman. Are you still friends with Omar? Probably not. What degree did you get? Hopefully education and teach in western Washington, or somewhere near glacier. But I've been thinking about switching lately, so who knows. Did you ever change your major? How was the hiking in Bozeman/Montana in general? - are you even still into that stuff? I'm a little worried to be that far from home, but I think it will be nice once I adjust to it. Orientation is coming up, hopefully I can find a job. Especially at a nice restaurant, and be a waiter. Did you ever try skiing out? I'm sorta scared too because of my knee, boy wouldn't that be a disaster if it blew up again. Remember ACL surgery?
Also, you may have transferred, probably to WWU if you did. If so, why? Most likely a money thing, and you couldn't keep your WUE. Did you like it there?
How have you kept up with all your high school friends? Do you still play any golf? Do you still have the Forester? What an accomplishment that was for us. Do you still work at Budd's? So many sick coworkers there. Zweifel, Hunter Graney, Hunter Hill - remember his roast at my grad party? It's this Sunday, I hope it went well. - Ricardo, Brooke Jorde, Kobe, Beau, Zane, Cara, Jeff, Brett, Janet (bae).
I wonder if I'll still be friends with Lauren on this date. Honestly, probably not, but I hope so. She's so nice, I'm glad I'm dating her, even though we're about to breakup when I leave for school. Do you think breaking up was the right choice?
Look back on all your high school friends, what're they up to now? NAWWP! Lucas, Caden, Reid, Kade, Nick, those are the easy ones to remember. What about Hudson (MLB legend), Brady Everitt, Ashdeep, Max Swanson, Skyler Williamson, Garrett Jensen, and Connor West - remember all those guys? Oh, and Zeke, too. Quite the character.
How many new names are there? Hopefully a lot. I haven't got my room assignment yet for freshman year, but I hope I like my roommate. I really hope he's a good friend. Are mom and norm still together? probably not.. sheesh.
I just went to Les Schwab and they said I have to pay $500 to replace my breaks. Man what the ****?? Garbage *** dealer sold me a lemon.
It's tough to write this letter because I have no clue what life is gonna look like the next four years. For many that would be scary, and to an extent it is, but it's also pretty exciting. I'm about to make memories and friendships that will last a lifetime, in a city and an environment unlike any other I've ever experienced. The snow, the lights, the dorms, the food, being away from home, it's all gonna be new. How did dealing with the snow go, by the way? Tri-Cities gets 3 inches, and you just got done with 4 years of getting f'ing 80.. wish me luck.
This is tough. I can't believe I'm graduating high school tomorrow. I'm starting to tear up writing this. 4 years I'll never forget. I learned so much throughout that time. I grew so much as a person. And I still have so much growing left to do, it's gonna be a very important next 4 years for me as one.
How's the NBA doing? and the NFL? and the MLB? Here's a little status on all 3 at the moment:
- The Vikings are meh, looking promising this year, but probably more disappointment. I doubt JJ is still there when you read this.. sigh.
- The Blazers suck, ****. But, we have a lotto pick and could potentially have an elite draft this year if we play our cards right. Dame will either be retired or cooked by the time you read this. The Celtics are up 2-1 on the warriors right now. Go Tatum.
- The mariners have lots of your talent - boy have I heard that one before. But seriously, they do. Definitely have made the playoffs by the time you read this.
I'll close it with this:
No matter where college took you, or takes you, check on your family and friends. Call mom and dad, I love them both so much. Talk to Jaden, to Nana, to Grandma. They all mean so much to me, I hope all are well at the time you're reading this.
Call up your old high school friends every once in a while, especially Reid. He has been there for me at every turn for over 10 years. Truly the best friend I could as for, I hope he achieves his dreams at USNA. Also, Reid, you'll probably be reading this part if I can get in contact with you in 4 years. You never knew until now how important you were to me growing up. There's a lot you, and the rest of my friends don't know about my home life growing up. Whenever I needed someone though, you and your family were there with open arms; no questions asked. You were truly so **** important to me, and you leave for boot camp in 2 two weeks from now. Hopefully I can take you out to dinner soon (from the date you're reading this). I love you, Reid. You and your family is family to me.
****. Now I'm crying, I should probably wrap this up soon. This turned into a long *** letter.
To Jude, good luck. Keep fighting, you are a hard worker and it will all work out, I promise. I am your biggest supporter and your best friend. You make me so proud, with how far you've come from now. As I prepare to graduate high school tomorrow, I wish you congratulations on your college graduation, and onto the rest of your life.
P.s. grow up and get tatted.
