A letter from May 21st, 2022

Dear 21 YEAR OLD Emelie, I hope that the 4 years of college did you some good, cause you're an annoying brat at 17, which is how old I am. Currently, I still have not gone to any concerts, have Renieka, Abreya, and Joselyn (maybe Anderly too lol) as my closest friends, and am lesbian. Are you still lesbian? Have you learned how to present a project without having a dry mouth? Have you successfully found some form of therapy that works for you? If the answer is yes to either of the last two questions, congrats!! Maybe you don't actually hate yourself now!!! I am nervous to attend UAlbany. I wonder if it was the right choice. You know yourself better than anyone, I have lots of questions to ask. I never stop thinking. Did you find at least a few people along the way, who appreciate your presence and express that to you? Do you even still need that type of validation? I know I do right now. High school is almost over, and I still get stuck in the same thought patterns. I am not the same person from 2020, that's for sure. But it's not like I've done a good job of helping myself. I'm always sad about something. Do you still ponder the things you don't have? LMAOO I need a hug. My wish for you is to find beauty in the mundane everyday moments. I am so obsessed with the thought of being present, the present passes by me. And I don't have confidence as a 17 year old Libra about most things. However, I am always confident that my future self will be ok. I hope you still have that quality, and have eaten a lot of fruit, read a lot of books, been to a few concerts, and have not bought ANYMORE earrings that will turn your ear lobes green.
