A letter from Mar 12th, 2022

Dear Future Me, You might not remember why you decided to write a letter to yourself but it was mainly inspired by a book you read on one night, note to self. I set this letter to be sent to you in 3 years because that would mean you're 30 this year. Right now, you're single, you have a job that you enjoy although you have your fair share of complains. You have your amazing mum, family and friends. You're struggling with your health and finance but you're pulling through it. You worked hard every day and also never missed a chance in getting what you wanted because you knew the present time matters. You were a proud independent woman. I am not sure how much things has changed for you in this 3 years. I am not sure if you managed to find a love that you always thought you deserved, your dream job or your ambition to pursue your masters which kept being pushed back because of your financial situation. I am writing this letter not to tell you that I am ashamed if I wasn't able to achieve anything major in the 3 years. I am not writing this letter to tell you that why haven't you done any of those. I am however writing this letter to tell you how proud I am of you. You don't need the validation from anyone because you have the validation from me. Your struggles were unsaid but they are real. You took in the courage to do what's best for you at the time. Your choices and decisions were made by considering all the circumstances. I do hope that when you receive this letter, you are just as happy and independent. if you are not doing well, it is alright. nothing is ever too late. if you're a little behind other, it is alright. you have your own timeline to follow. if your friends are married and getting kids, it is alright. what's meant for someone doesn't need to be meant for you as well. you may be blessed to have the same life but don't be upset if you aren't blessed with it yet. time will tell. learn to live with yourself and love yourself unconditionally. spoil yourself. go get yourself an expensive bag or perfume. just know that you're loved and every minute of your life in the past has molded you into who you are now. also, happy birthday <3
