A letter from Jan 29th, 2022

Dear Julia, I heard NUSO play Shosty 5 tonight, and it was incredible. I stood outside west Fairchild for a while in the cold because the clouds were so beautiful and I just had a long moment of feeling serene. Tonight has reminded me how incredible it is that I am here, making music, feeling everything I’m feeling. Life here feels disappointing sometimes for not being what I expected, but I think that applies to life in general. I’m starting to see how my life really is my own unique experience that isn’t supposed to look a certain way- it just is. I’m not sure where you’ll be when you read this. Maybe you’re in grad school somewhere, or working, or wondering what you’ll do next. Wherever you are, however you’re doing, I’m really proud of you. Existing is so ******* hard to do, but I hope (and I know) you’ll be getting nights like these where everything just is, because nights like these are why I’m still alive.
