A letter from Jan 5th, 2022

Time Travelled — 12 months

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, Hi, so as you read this you're gonna be 14. It's kinda odd to think about it, only because I just turned 13 about 2 months ago. So... what did you get for Christmas? I got a piano and lots of baking stuff. Please say that you're still working on your piano, and drawing, and baking. It's a lot, I know, but it's fine. I doubt you remember because this is in a year, but how did the pinball machine go? I know you'll be in 8th grade and all that, but whatever. I wrote a letter from 6th grade to 2026 for my birthday. So from 2020 to 2026, which I'd be turning 18. Honestly, I don't think I'll make it that far, it seems so far away. Anyway, I read my 6th-grade letters and they're awful. They're so cringy and I'd use weird abbreviations for stuff. Like it would be "Learn any tricks on the skate?" Meaning, "Have you learned any tricks on your skateboard?" I just think it's funny. So I'm in 7th grade, and at this time you'll be in 8th! High school is right around the corner, which is amazing. I haven't comprehended that I'm in the 2nd semester right now, because frankly, I'm still stuck in October. It's so weird just thinking that you're going to be in the 2nd semester reading this because I feel like that you'll still be stuck in November. Did you ever finish that TikTok? If so then you need to start another. You have your room!! Is it nice? I'm so jealous of you for having it. I'm still deciding the theme of it but something I really want for it is a bigger bed. I just want a full size so I have more room for the dogs. So right now things are partly crazy still. Covid is still around, but I forgot about it, and I'm kind of nervous because another outbreak could happen during the year, and then we have to quarantine again. Obviously, I still have Austin, Trapper, and Martina, but I don't really know. Are you still friends with them? I just have so many questions, so this next paragraph will be all about them. Are you having fun? How's school? Are you still friends with everyone? Do you have any new friends? How much has changed? Is Brody moved out? How did the moving process go? Are mom and dad happy together? How has life been? How much have you grown? (mentally and physically) Is school good? Are sports good? Have you been doing your devotions? Are you close with God? Are you still serving with little kids? Are you still going to church? Have you done something productive today? Have you been positive about things? Is Covid as crazy as it has been? Did you go through a big quarantine this year? Is Tiktok still big? Have you gotten a new phone? Did you ever end up getting braces? That's pretty much it. 2022 will be a good year I feel. I'm just excited for summer because I do not like school. It's just sometimes not the best. I obviously love seeing all my friends, but sometimes I just need a long break. I guess I'll see you when this letter gets here. Happy New Year!! -13-year-old, Kylie
