Dear FutureMe,
I hope by the time you received this letter, you are having the best things in life because you deserved them all. I hope you're smiling, genuinely because you're ageing like a fine wine. I hope you are well-loved by the people you really love. And maybe, you're already married, with Isann, and living a great life with your two kids.
It took a while, huh. To finally taste the fruit of your struggles. And it ain't sweeter than the thought your hard work paid off. The silent cries in the wee hours were worth it. The begging from the stars has finally conspired.
You cried so much, gallons of tears could have replenished empty bins allotted for your disappointments, failures and minute successes. And now, you're smiling. You're sleeping soundly. You deserved them all.
There won't any more difficulty aside from the fact that you have to wait for your husband's return home from his voyage as a family man. There'd be no fear anymore, other than the thought that you'd run out of ways of showing him your love and your children, which won't happen because you vowed to do your best wife and mother in the universe.
I am proud of you, especially for what you have become. All the pat on your own shoulder, when you'd forget how'd you go on, are definitely all worth it. I'm seeing you being a very good sibling. You loved them more than your life. You are trying to forgive those who wronged you. You are trying to heal from all the traumas brought to you by this life's circumstances.
You've finally written that poetry book you long wished to have written. You're happy with your job. You're doing what you love at the same time.
There's nothing more to ask. Except for healthy, prosperous and happy decades ahead. You are three years done. Another one won't hurt.
XOXO,
your 25-year-old self
