A letter from Oct 18th, 2021

Time Travelled — almost 5 years

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, I am sitting in the library at CCC after German class getting some homework done. It seems interesting that I was prompted by this website to send myself an email for the future- it seems that right now, my life is really beginning. I am so thrilled to hear what sorts of things you will have accomplished in 5 years from today. Will you have gone to Europe? How many foreign languages are you conversational in? Even if the answer is still only Spanish, that's okay. But right now, I have high hopes for your foreign language journey. After all, you are so motivated and determined. How's your love life been? I have no idea how this one will turn out for you. If you remember correctly, now around this time in my life I am feeling so extremely lonely and longing for a Friedrich Bhaer to my Jo March. Maybe someday. I bet there will be some things that had happened that I'd never expect. I wonder what you think when you read this again. I hope my chronic fatigue is no longer a factor when you get this letter. If it is, I'm sorry. But I know you are strong enough to work through it. You're that kind of person. Right now I am obsessed with Simon and Garfunkel and The Monkees (and as always, Billy Joel). I wonder if you will still be the same-old classic music enjoyer! Well... I will see you in five years. I hope we don't disappoint each other. Until then, Olivia
