A letter from Oct 16th, 2021

Dear FutureMe, It has been a month and 13 days since. I hope the pain is less and I hope you've forgotten. I hope you get this and wonder what on earth I am sending you and wonder what I'm talking about. I hope you are happy and I hope things are better. I hope you have met someone new and I hope you are listening to new music, have watched new movies, have seen the end of Phase 4 in the MCU. I hope you still love Dr. Strange, I hope you have mended your relationship with your younger sister. I hope you still have good friends, especially the one in Oxford. I hope you've found real, beautiful love. I hope you're alive and living, surviving and traveling. I hope your Chinese is okay, I hope you've taken some cooler classes, I hope you've, as a friend said, escaped the spiral, finally. I hope, in 2026?, you are as proud as I hope I can one day be, and I hope you are reading constantly, making new friends, experiencing life the way I know you deeply like to. I hope you remember your college friends. I hope you remember all of this. I'm in Austin right now, and I'm hoping you are somewhere else, somewhere different, maybe in a different state, or a different country, I hope you've found that happiness and joy are not single moments but neverending and long states of mind. :) Sincerely, You, October 16 2021
