Dear FutureMe,
You are no one's reminder. You're no one's alarm clock. You're not an organizer nor a planner. You are not anyone's therapist. You are not obligated to be the 'crying shoulder'. Your ears aren't there to always listen to them. You are neither a doormat nor a punching bag. Neither the soft comforter nor the warm fireplace. You don't always have to be the 'helping hand'. You are not pillar to let them lean on you. Not an anchor to keep them in place. It never was your responsibility to piece their lives together. You do not have to play the role of the doctor or the mother, or the tree that gives others comfort. You do not stand to keep them hidden from the sun.
Love,
You.
