A letter from Oct 10th, 2021

Dear FutureMe, I know that you would be shock that you received this letter for 5 years and if you forgot that what is the reason why I write this letter to you because I’m doing my project that what would be my message to you in the future which is 5 years from now. 5 years from now, when I think about those words, I feel like I’m old although I think I would be 22 years old and I’m still at college but a graduating student. When we’re young, we think about what would be our professions in the future. There’s a lot of options, we want to become a doctor, teacher, chef, architect and a businesswoman but you already know that what would be our profession which is to become a doctor because I want to help other people in terms of getting a certain disease or getting sick and I want them get better. That’s what my younger self said as well as the 16 year old me. I want to ask some questions and I hope you answer it truthfully as you read this letter. These are the questions that I would like you to answer (although it could be a lot since I’m so curious what would be my future self doing in 5 years from now). Is the pandemic really over? Are you going to take Dentistry as your course in college? How’s your college life? Is your class face-to-face or still online learning? Do you meet new people that you could consider friends/rivals? Are you okay in taking up this course? Do you feel happy that you take up this course? Did you find someone that would like you to become a better version of yourself? If you don’t want to become a Dentist then you would like to transfer to med school after college? I hope you answer this questions because I’m really curious what would I become in 5 years from now. If you are curious what I’m doing right now as a 16 year old me is of course I’m a Grade 11 STEM student and I’m writing this letter to you and it’s Sunday today so the four of us go to church at 6 am and we go back home to eat breakfast and there would be a PT Week in this week and next week would be a set of new subjects schedule for the month of October-November. I’m still getting the hang of it of becoming a STEM student and of course my strand is very hard because of the subjects but it’s normal because I got to learn something although I would have just forget them which is not good. I and brother still not getting vaccinated today since there is no COVID vaccine who is below 18 years old but I hope that there would be a face-to-face class next year so that I could meet my friends and also able to learn new things that could help me in college soon. Future self, if you have someone that wants you to become a better version of ourselves then please keep him but also I trust your judgement when it comes to men but you already that our standards in men are very high. But of course you already know that a 16 year old woman wouldn’t want to have a love life in college because she prefers to continue study and no distractions but of course we don’t know what could be the future holds for us. You already know my reasons why I don’t want to get committed with someone because I want to finish my college and also get to med school and have a permanent job wherein I could have money and save for the near future and I have to treat my parents because they deserve better but if you really love him then I won’t force you to stop loving him since it’s our choice and of course I trust our judgement in men so I don’t worry about it either. For me, Love is a dangerous feeling that you could get addicted with but if that feeling is so right and the two of you didn’t hurt other people then continue loving him and I hope that the two of you would always want one another to become a better version of yourselves and also tell me if that your significant person is also going to become a partner of yours for the rest of your lives and also the father of your children then I hope you still love and respect each other since the road of marriage is a rocky road (although it would be not 5 years from now because I’m still studying in college and maybe we could get married at the age of 28 or 30 since we prefer to work before love) and I hope the two of you are physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually prepared in getting settle down another and of course the of two you should have family planning so that your children would not suffer as they grow older and also please tell me if you have four kids ( 2 boys and 2 girls) then I would be happy that God answered my prayers. Future self, do you still spend a lot of money up until now? Although I hope you save some money in order to prepare something that we couldn’t predict a certain situation and also to save money for us and also our future family as well. Well consider that we will take a medical course then we have a lot of money but I hope you stay humble and also to share your blessings to others but too much because they’ll get greedy. In terms of our line in work which is Dentist/Doctor, I think we would be fine as long as you have plan in continue our job and also to learn to love your job and also do you have a business? Like what Dad and Mom have? You already know that Mom and Dad want us to have business that is in line to our job or could be not but it’s important to have business in order to invest and also to grow money as well. Future self, is Mom and Dad okay? Are they still working up until now? I promised Dad that he shouldn’t get retired until I finish med school or already have a permanent job and I want to keep my promise until my promise is fulfilled already. I know that Mom and Dad are getting old but I hope that they still okay and have a healthy body and of course I want them to live longer because I need them the most and also I want to chat with them and also to learn a lesson from them even if we have disputes or fights, we always say sorry to them even if it hurts my pride to say sorry to others but also they are my parents they deserve everything and I want the best for them. I would pray to God that hoping Mom and Dad are okay and have a healthy body as they grow older. Future self, did you still go to church together with the family or maybe you go to church yourself? We should go to church every Sunday in order to pray to God what would be our prayers to Him and also to tell our troubles to Him. Although we don’t keep praying to God at evening and also sometimes not listening to the Priest but I hope you still believe in God and I hope that you trust God and put everything to Him and everything would be at place. Future self, continue on building our future in order to live comfortable and also to enjoy life because everyone deserve to enjoy life because we only have one life left and we should do the things that we love and also to risk everything that you think that could help to build our future but of course finish your study because you already there. You are now a graduating student in college and we could able to get to med school in order to become a Doctor that we want to be and I hope you still communicate with your best friends in high school because they are the best, just trust me and you already know that I love them so much that I don’t want them to get hurt and don’t worry to get mistake along the way because it’s normal to get mistakes as long as you learn from your mistakes and also it could help up so become a strong independent woman and we could have enough knowledge and continue loving our family especially our parents and also to your younger brother and also be happy as always because the two of us deserved to be happy and also I want you or should I say the two of us to become a better version of ourselves. Believe in yourself that you could do anything that you want as long as it’s your dream and also you follow God’s grace then everything follows as well and also be confident and don’t be scared because it’s not good to stay too much to our comfort zone, you already experience that way back when we are young. I think I already said the things that I want to say to you but as you finish reading this letter, I hope that you realize something that never give up and continue on believing yourself and also be confident as always. Even if you change but I hope you change for the better of yourself because it’s called self-love and we should learn to love yourself as always and if you have a hard time, then try to communicate with Mom and Dad and also communicate with your best friends in high school and in college also because it’s not good to bottle your feelings and your troubles.
