A letter from Oct 2nd, 2021

Dear FutureMe, Well, I did it! I got into the internship and moved to Las Vegas all by myself! It's the first Saturday of October so I'm starting it off right by watching Hocus Pocus and I think I'll watch Halloween Town or something else next! I'm taking it easy today because Kwoe got 11 teeth removed yesterday!! ( I think she is watching the movie right now! She won't sit next to me! haha) She's doing ok now but I think she might be realizing what happened because she's taking it easy today too. I'll give her a little extra main meds tonight because I don't know if she got all of it this morning in her food. She's such a resilient cat! Life in Vegas has been good so far, lots of new food places to try and cool activities! I met a girl and her friend last weekend and we went to the club! I might've blacked out....but ya know I remember most of it but it was really fun! They invited me out last night but I wanted to stay in with Kwoe. I also had to miss out on going to Happy Hour with the other interns yesterday. The internship is going ok, I have one more week left of Food Service and I'm glad to be almost done because my preceptor isn't the best. Lots of department changes have been happening so all of the dept leaders might leave in the next couple months. He doesn't really care about the job or what I'm doing. Because they have so many governing bodies above them, anything I do won't really be used because it isn't approved by them. Even the "bigger" discrepancies I found aren't being taken seriously like deli turkey has more sodium than ham and the diabetics are being served 8 carb exchanges twice a week for breakfast. But all I can do is try and get through this next week. I've made friends with most the kitchen staff and they've really been helping me find everything and make me feel included, especially the diet clerks. I even asked one of them to help me find shrooms for next weekend! haha Next weekend, Alex is coming for the Russ concert here and I'm so excited! Mostly for the concert but also a friend to come and see me. I haven't made too many friends and the interns just seem closer to each other. We also want to go to the top three haunted houses put on in the country! Go figure they're in Vegas! I've been to Area 51 twice, the Strip several times, go karting, to the Hoover *** and Boulder City, lots of restaurants, South Point casino, Tao club, the Container Park, Fremont street, Red Rock State Park, and the Convention Center since I've been here! I worked that weird Pizza Expo in August and advertised for Quorn and did it better than the reps they sent! It's all that sorority experience I have drawing people in ;) Unfortunately, no one will be coming down for my birthday, so I'm thinking of going back up to Reno. Or I was thinking mom could come down here and that would be fun! I know Jeremey would come, but I just don't think now is the right time to explore things with him if there is something more to explore but we'll see! Maybe I should think about some goals. I would like to see myself own a home by the time I'm 30 (6 years). I want to take my RDN exam within two months of finishing my internship and obviously I want to pass the first time so that'll be in June or sooner! I don't know if I want to stay in Vegas but I was talking to Anthony and they're seriously considering moving out because of how expensive it's getting! There's no way I'll be able to afford that especially coming out of this internship with no money! Anyway, I guess that's all for now. (Great goal planning) I hope I'll be even greater in 5 years! Happy Spooky Season. I'm thinking about going to the dollar store and getting some decorations! I have my candles going too :) maybe I should bake something for my neighbors, they've been very friendly so far. Ok, NOW that's all.
