A letter from Sep 23rd, 2021

Dear FutureMe, It is your first proper week of college. With no setbacks (ahem covid restrictions and online school) and you are coming to terms with what a young adult truly feels like. Honestly, it's a lot of effort, coming out of your shell and pushing yourself to meet new and interesting people. It's very worth it though. But in between meeting new people I have come to terms with that, it's okay to be alone. Eating and studying alone isn't as daunting as it first seems like it was in secondary school. You've learned that people have a whole different life and schedule as you... You are even lucky to be even crossing paths with them. Plus meeting people who are eating on their own can be a very good way of meeting new people and possibly making long term friendships.
