Dear FutureMe,
I'm sure you've learned so much in the past few years. I'm writing this as a 22 year old, and I already think I'm learning exponentially more each year. I'm learning how to control my emotions and make decisions based on how it will affect others and my future self. Why stress myself for something I could move on from so easily? Here are some of my recent mottos: Don't ask questions you don't want to know the answer to (inspired by your best friend). Just tell people they're right... there's no need to argue that you interpreted their other comment a different way, just say they were right and move on -- win-win. Who cares if they cut you in the queue, just assume they were having a bad day and it'll take an extra minute but a lot less stress than worrying about it!
Anyways, right now I'm in a bit of a stressful place: I'm trying to finish my thesis, trying to find a job, I have a skin issue that won't resolve and nobody knows what it is. Money's always a stressor (it better not be for you!). I don't really know what I want to do with my life, but I'm hoping I have a clearer idea in five years time.
I'm grateful Keeks got to London today, and I'm grateful for the bit of nice weather we're getting although everybody's said summer's dead. Happy to be going on holiday in a few weeks, and happy that I get to live with my best friend, we laugh a lot. I'm happy for the comfort London brings me (or should I say how comfortable I feel in it, even when it gets on my last nerve sometimes). I love days when I get to see my friends, and I love my independence. I love that my problems are so minuscule compared to somebody else's and that I know deep down my envy for those with seemingly no problems is misplaced. I'm excited to see what the future brings me even when it looks so unclear right now.
Goodluck future me! I know you're ******* it.
