A Letter for a Young Woman

Time Travelled — over 4 years

Peaceful right?

Dear future me, Hey! How are you doing? This is being written by the very shy grade 8 you five years ago. It’s just the start of the school year, and we’ve just finished the first week. Everyone in the class is dreading exams, but you, having graduated already, must be very used to it by now. I wonder if you’re still connected to your current friends, or if you’ve made new ones. Have your interests changed? I guess this message is drawing towards the theme of change. Change happens over the years, so it’s likely that the me writing this letter is not the same as the one reading it. Different personalities, interests, and goals in life are some things that could be compared. But, no matter how different you’ve changed, I still hope that one thing stayed the same: your qualities of honesty, trustworthiness, and, what I think is such a simple quality, yet so important, kindness. Yours truly, Your past self
