A letter from Aug 27th, 2021

Dear FutureMe, I’m sending this as you enter your 3rd and final year of university. I wonder what you’ll be like when you receive this. What Job do you have ? Will you be married? Maybe you have children? Did you move out of Birmingham or are you still there with your sisters? Hows your relationship with your parents? Has your Mum moved back or somewhere else or is she still in Turkey ? Have you reached your “goal weight”. Anyway I wanted to ask are you happy ? Do you still feel alone ? Like the odd one out ? How are you Deen wise ? Do you pray your 5 prayers and do you fast when you need to ? Do you read the Quran? I hope you do because I’m trying from now to be on my Deen . It truly does make you feel happy and at peace incase you’ve forgotten. If your not on your deen maybe this can be a reminder. I also hope you had courage to see counselling. To tell your dark thoughts that you think you can’t share with your family. Do you still have those “weird episodes” where nothing feels real and everything moves rapid and things seem small and far away. I hope your happy. I hope you found whatever it is I’m looking for.
