A letter from Aug 27th, 2021

Dear FutureMe, Enjoy this description I just wrote for my English class. As much as I want to say my school was terrible and the sole reason I'm not a great student, it wouldn't really be true. I went to a school with a small student body and a handful of teachers. I was there from elementary through middle school. The elementary experience was fairly normal. Most of the teachers were nice and encouraging, and as it came closer to middle school they had us do more and more and I started to fall behind. I was a very antsy and energetic kid and hated having to sit down and work for hours on end. Then came middle school. They started throwing me back at the work I missed the grades before and restricting time outside and during sports until anytime I wasn't in class I was expected to in an English book or on the computer going through a year's worth of work which I was too slow to catch up on. I hated everything and particularly the principle that was personally making it happen. She regularly pulled me aside after school and sometimes even during lunch. I was getting yelled at twice a week until eventually I just started crying every time I got called to the office. Eventually I made it through, and high school was instantly refreshing. Most of the teachers were support and very encouraging and I found myself learning twice as fast and enjoying it along the way. I was not a star student but it was a good start. Lately I find myself able to efficiently complete tasks and learn most material. I just hope I can pace myself well enough for what's to come.
