A letter from Aug 26th, 2021

Time Travelled — almost 5 years

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, If five years from now you’re reading this and my future went as planned, you’re probably living in a dorm with your friends and studying for an upcoming test for your accountancy course in UST, Philippines. However, in case you’re not staying in a dorm with your friends or studying in your dream school, I still hope that you’re happy and never forget that greater things are just yet to come. I hope you have some time to spare and read this letter of you from five years ago because with this letter, I want to give you comfort that you might be needing right now. While writing this letter, I’m currently sitting in the living room of our house listening to One Direction with our dog by my side. I’m currently feeling very nervous and somewhat excited to think about what position you’re in right now while reading this. I have tons of questions to ask you if you wouldn’t mind, first of all, I wanted to ask how are we? Did we survive the pandemic? Can we now go out without the threat of getting infected by the virus? Is our dog still well? I really hope that she is. Next is, how about you? Do you feel happy? Do you still talk with our friends that we met online? How about your bff? Are you still talking? Whatever the answer maybe, I just wish that you’re still feeling very happy right now. I wish that you’re not doubting yourself anymore and you’re not feeling any pain as you ready this letter. This year really was a crazy one. We met tons of people. We even laughed and cried with them. You learned lots of things, such as how you can actually depend on your sister and you saw the flaws of your friend that you care so deeply about. I still have a lot of things to say you know? However, I don’t want you to feel sad or disappointed if ever the answer to my questions is a no. Always remember that whatever our situation maybe, I’m still proud of you and I’m learning now how to love you. I hope by the time you read this letter, your number one priority is to be happy, give love, and be loved. I hope the emotions that we feel right now when we’re 15, we still get the luxury to feel them when we’re 20. I hope that you still forgive people easily and is always kind to others no matter what happens. To conclude this letter, I just really want to say that my greatest wish for us is for us to be happy. I hope that we never forget to love our self; I hope that we learn how to not change what we want for others and I hope we learn that our dreams are never too big for us. I hope the people in our life now are still with us in the future. I hope the future treats us kindly. Future ally, I really wish the best for you. I really do.
