A letter from Aug 23rd, 2021

Time Travelled — almost 5 years

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, This is the second letter you’ve sent yourself. The last message you received was from sixteen year old you. I can’t believe how much your confidence has changed. You’ve still got a long way to go but You’re doing so well. After leaving school things changed for you massively. You went to college and met some amazing people, did something you love and grew into the person you were meant to be. As I’m writing this you’ve recently moved to Lincoln, you’ve got a great new job and you’ve made some amazing new friends. I hope as you’re reading this you’re still happy!! Things aren’t perfect right now but you’re young and you’re living your life the way you want to. A lot has changed since your last message, you’ve had your heart broken a few times (we all make mistakes ;)) and you’ve lost loved ones. But you’ve also achieved so, so much and I’m happy with the person you’ve become. No longer are you the shy girl who is scared of the world. Now you’re a smart, independent woman who has more confidence than she ever expected. I’m so proud of you. What I want you to ask yourself Future me is, what’s changed? I hope it’s for the better. I’m excited for you and what’s to come. Do yourself a favour and don’t settle. You better put yourself first for once. I know that you often miss your parents, so go tell them you love them right now. They’ve been a blessing for you and I know how grateful you are. Things are scary, but they are ok, and they are ***** get even better. I’m rooting for you, future me. I love you, 24 year old Regan xxxxxxxxx
