Dear FutureMe,
I am hoping by now you are a lawyer because that would mean that you did not drop out and if you aren’t, I imagine that’s because you got into NLU Hyderabad. As for me, I have just finished my first week at law school. It is scary, demanding, tough, exhausting, sometimes boring, intimidating, introspective and so much more. Sometimes, it gets so terrifying that I wonder if I made the right choice. I am guessing you are the only one who can answer this. In that aspect, I am jealous of you. That you hold answers to all the questions that keep me awake at night. It also frustrates me that I can only contact you through time. Did I do well? Did I get a good job? Did I achieve anything? Am I finally content and satisfied with my life? I am hoping you would say yes to at least one of the questions.
Sometimes, I wonder if I took a different path in life, I would have been way better off. Like engineering for example. I pray to all the gods in the universe that you disagree vehemently with this idea.
In the end, I genuinely want you to be the better version of me in every sense, not the best because there’s always room for growth, and not just the same or God forbid, worse version. I hope you didn’t let a lot of opportunities slip by and the ones you did, you don’t spend a lot of time regretting over. I hope you embraced new ideas about literally everything without letting yourself become your own hurdle. I hope that when it comes down to the core of it, you are still that person who laughs at her own mistakes, will do anything for friend and spends ton of time day dreaming about boy bands. Love you.
