A letter from Aug 20th, 2021

Dear FutureMe, Hi Mackenzie, how are you? How has life treated you? Has it been kind? I know I’m asking a lot of questions, but it’s just… I want to get to know you. It may seem confusing as to why I would want to know my future self, but it’s not! By the time you see this, you will have grown in many ways that I couldn't have imagined. You are probably a lot different than I am now. You might be bigger and stronger or smaller and weaker. You might be smarter or dumber, happier or sadder, bolder or shyer. You might be different, but you might also be the same. But that’s not possible because I know that there is no way that I can not change. There's no way you can not change. We are rapidly evolving and changing in so many ways that many people can't and will never comprehend it. We’ve known this for a while now, though. From our moods to the layout of our room! We move from place to place, thing to thing, hobby to hobby. But there will always be something we keep. So what did you keep? Are you still as introverted as I am? Are you as emotional as I am? Do you still crush on certain celebs? I ask these questions but the answer won’t matter to me. All that matters is that you, Mackenzie, enjoy this life. Enjoy and make the best of it because by the time you read this you’ll be on the way to college and ready for adulthood! You'll be experiencing new things. Make sure you ask your future self questions as well. They can be serious or silly or both but make sure you ask.
