Dear FutureMe,
Twenty-one..... wow!
I honestly have no idea what I'll be doing in the future, but I hope you've done at least these three things:
- gone on a mission trip
- gone on an adventure with some friends
- kept in touch with the people who care about you
I don't have anything wise to say to you unfortunately as I am only 16 and can barely even drive!
The one piece of advice I have to offer is to enjoy your 20s! Make them count and make memories. Take a bazillion photos that you can look back on when you're old and have kids and hold onto that joy you get from God and from seeing others happy. Always love the people and the environment around you and truly live in the moment! Don't live for tomorrow — live for the here and the now and the people here. Always be a friend, no matter what anyone does to you or says to you. Donate money and your services to charity! Make a difference, no matter how small. It might seem inconsequential at the time, but the people receiving your help will cherish it. Always strive to be empathetic and to see things from all types of points of view.
love,
16-year-old me <3
