A letter from Aug 11th, 2021

Time Travelled — almost 5 years

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, Hey, it's me your younger self. Currently, I am 13 years old and I just thought about sending a letter to you, my beloved future self. It's 11 pm and you are sitting at your (hopefully) old house. You are all alone, opened front door, without your cell and you are wearing pajama shorts and a t-shirt from your tennis club. Right now your *** is on fire but you won't open the air condition cause you are pretty bored to stand up and go all the way to the back living room, so you just decide to smell like sweat. In this pre-teen age of yours, you are surprisingly into reading books, English books, not greek ones. You never liked greek books, you always find them lame, and I cant blame you for that. So future me, I really hope you don't have kids, please do not ruin your life at such a young age. You are officially an adult but don't get too excited. Also please don't be married. Did you go to America? Ever visited LA or NYC? Went to New Jersey? Met your online friends? Made friends with younger people? Started treating your parents better? Living grandparents? Any? How many people do you trust? Are you still friends with the girls you are now? What about your cousin Rea, are you still "friends" with her. Helen, your cousin Helen, is she back from Germany? Do you still have your house at pefka. What about Mykonos, do you still go there every single year? What about the kids from your summer camp, are you still friends with them? What about Nick? Is he still your best friend? How is alcohol? Does it taste great? I have way more questions that I want to ask but I'll stop now. Laura, I hope you have cultivated a wonderful character and developed into a wonderful person. I hope you have sympathy for others and you start treating people the way that they should be treated. Right now you are not a very nice person, and you are aware of that. Self-awareness is a great thing and I am proud that I know that, but self-awareness also means trying to fix your own self. I am very young and many people might even say mature for my age, but sometimes I don't feel like that. Sometimes, I feel like I am still a child and I want to play, but some other times I feel like people the same age as me act like children. I am not trying to grow up faster cause I know that I will regret it, but sometimes I do act older. My grandmother, aunts, and mother call me a woman when I am just a 13-year-old kid that has its period for about 2 years. Periods, this is what makes a girl a woman? Having her period? Woman makes you the way that you act or think. The way that you find solutions or the way that you get into "troubles". Not some blood that comes out of your ****** every single month. I am not a woman and I don't think that I am ready for that. So now I hope that you are a woman, 5 years from now I hope you have become a woman. I hope that you have understood what you have been through and what you want to do with your life. I hope you are a human, a human that understands and loves others, but first, understands and loves themselves. Stay safe in this world Laura, it can be very dangerous so love yourself first and then others, cause this is and has been your problem your entire life. You put others' feelings above yours. That will lead you nowhere so do what I tell you now. Love yourself. So five years from now! Take care! Laura <3
