A letter from Jul 27th, 2021

Time Travelled — about 4 years

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, Hey girl, you’ve only got about two weeks left in Fredericksburg and everything is really scary. Right now you’re sitting in your apartment surrounded by all your plants and the weather is beautiful and you’re watching 500 days of summer and you just made yourself some good food. Things are good right now and even though you’re going to miss Morgan and the best roommate in the entire world, things will work out. Things have always worked out. You’ve been burned so few times in your life so why would this be the moment when it happens? I hope you enjoy these last couple weeks of work, I hope you enjoy a couple weeks you have a Winchester, and I hope you enjoy this adventure. Papa says that his trip is going to be one of the peaks of my life, which is a little scary and feels like a lot of pressure. I hope I can figure out how to just love it and enjoy the moment. I’m working on enjoying the moment right now. I also realize I’m not very good at leaving my apartment, but I guess this trip is going to make me better at that. I wonder what sort of friends I’m gonna make overseas, cause I’m sure I’m gonna make some, I’m sure there are good people out there. Some questions for my future self: have you called Morgan recently? What are the names of the people you met on your trip? Did you kiss someone while you were over there? Have you been excepted into law school yet? Have you moved into a new apartment? I am happy right now. Happy and scared. I hope when you read this you are happy and satisfied. This letter was originally sent only a year into the future. But I decided to send it a couple more years as well. I’m sending this to a random day when I’m 25…. Let’s see how it goes. (Note: this letter was sent from right before you left doe the Dublin internship). Questions for that future self: I hope you’re happy with the people you were with, I hope you haven’t forgotten the ones who were with you from the beginning. Who are you with now? Do you still like red wine? Did you finish school, did you enjoy it? Are you happy? Do you have a cool apartment? Do you have money to spend and money in savings?
