A letter from Jul 22nd, 2021

Time Travelled — almost 5 years

Peaceful right?

Hey you, Im sitting in the Alamosa office not doing work. instead, I've taken it upon myself to read the intimate details of other people's lives and I must say, its inspired me to write a more futuristic letter. you thought a year was crazy? try 5. HoLy ****. you will be twenty ******* six by the time you read this. I trust by now that you've forgotten this letter completely. I trust by now that you've forgotten a lot completely--this seems like a good thing to me. appealing, if you will. this is not a letter to remind you of the person you are right now or even to remind you of the things that are going on in your life right now because lets be honest, even though they're big things now... they will get smaller and smaller and smaller the bigger YOU get. I have a lot of questions for you. I also have a lot of hopes, dreams, expectations, a lot of everythings for you. Ive been thinking a lot about how much of a difference a year makes, or a month, week, or day. by the time you read this you will be unrecognizable to me right now. like I don't think your face will change all that much but you'll have lived sooooo much more life and that life will cause you to shift and morph and change into the person you will be 5 years from now. don't worry too much if you feel like you haven't changed all that much, you're alright right now ;). if you feel like you've changed tooooo much then maybe check yourself heheh. by the time you read this, I have a feeling a lot will be different for you. are you married? do you have kids? do you have a job? where do you live? it seems like I cant even think of all the questions to ask you because I can't even wrap my head around 5 years passing. I hope you're reading this. that things haven't changed that dramatically. I hope that mom, dad, Constantine (did he marry Kelsey?), Aristotle, Izabel and Moby are well. how was their wedding? if they haven't had it yet show them this letter and tell them to get on it. if they have, show them this letter and laugh about it. I wonder if you miss me yet. miss this time in your life. do you think of her? use this letter as an excuse to reach out to the people you miss, or maybe don't. maybe you've gotten better at letting people exit your life. I can't wait to see what you're doing. I hope its impactful, fulfilling, and intentional. if your job isn't those things I hope the people around you are. I hope that you're in love. I hope you're remembering to take it slow. to be gracious and to be rooted in the people around you. I hope you've grown in the best ways. to be a person that is loving, selfless, kind, intentional, integrant, passionate, and soft. notice how I didn't say resilient? I pray to god herself that you haven't hardened. that you've been reminded to keep your softness, to protect that place in you with such furiousness that it lives or that you've found someone that helps you protect it, that loves that part of you, that brings it out of you and shows it to the world. its been a long time since you've heard your voice this young. I hope you take a second to appreciate the time thats passed and remember that you can't appreciate just one part of your life but have to do it all. im sure ill think of a million other things I want 26 year old Zoi to think about when you read this but this might just have to be it for now. don't forget where you came from. love you lots, me
