Dear Future Me,
Hi. How's it going? I think I'll have you receive this letter five years from now hoping life has made a significant change since now. It's 12:33 pm on 15th July 2021 and as of now, I'm sitting at the Dining table waiting for my verdict from Christ. I was waitlisted a couple of weeks ago and the change is due today.
I was pretty distressed in May. We didn't know if boards would happen or not so we kept on studying during a third lockdown and life was stagnant but things are much better now. I got my learner's license, started learning how to drive a gear car, got my own bank account with a debit card, learned how to do ATM transactions, applied to a few colleges, got accepted in some. Only Chennai's Arts and Science colleges haven't opened up but that's where I'm supposed to go.
Anyway, how are things for you? Are you working temporarily until you get your way into a college abroad for post-grad or did life have something else in store for you? Have you learnt any foreign languages properly yet? How different is the world now? I should assume there are new mind-blowing technologies developed. It's sort of exciting to imagine where I will be in five years.
Am I happy? Do I have lots of amazing, special friends and candid pictures? I'm really looking forward to seeing you.
Love,
18 year old Me
