A letter from Jun 22nd, 2021

Time Travelled — almost 5 years

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, Hey. Reading all these FutureMe letters has me tearing up and kind of spiraling into an existential crisis—oh well, I have them daily. I’m not doing very well right now to be completely honest with you. I’m 17, I’m burnt out, I have no sense of direction, I have no idea what I want to take up in college, and college is in a month. I don’t know where I want to study, my mental health has not been doing good lately, and everything just sorta feels like it’s crashing down on me. Everything I do feels draining. With that, I hope you’re better. I hope you finally have found a passion for something in life. I hope you let yourself be vulnerable and let other people know what you truly feel instead of hiding away. I hope you’ve learned to smile again at the little things, not for the sake of smiling, but because you truly are happy. I hope you’ve learned to let go and let things be things. Let stuff happen. I hope you’re letting Mom and Dad know you love them. Because you do. I hope you’ve learned to let you be you. Hey, don’t be a stranger. Write back to me when you can. :)
