A letter from Jun 11th, 2021

Dear Mariem, If I did the math correctly you should be turning 22, hopefully I did or this would be awkward. Today is June 11, 2021 and I'm wrapping up Junior year. Isn't that crazy? Today was also the day you lost the School Board Representative position, and it sucks. Remember that anger you felt? The frustration because of the lack of representation, hold onto it. Let it fuel you to be better, to be vocal, to be a good leader. Be honest. Be vulnerable. I hope you figured out everything, or at least some things. I hope you are surrounded by loving people, have a radiant smile and maybe even found a special someone. I just want you to be happy. DID YOU MEET CAT, RENA, CHELSEA, AND CAMMIE YET? I hope you did, I hope it was as wonderful as you imagined it to be. If you haven't yet, you better be saving up for it. I'm trying to learn how to be myself, how to be honest and vulnerable and it's scary and hard. But it is so worth it, it is so much more freeing. Learn to love the person staring back at you in the mirror (give her a little kiss for me). I don't know where you are in life and what you are doing but I have faith you are doing everything you can. I have faith you are following your heart.
