Dear FutureMe,
Surprise! Here's a letter from about 5 years ago.
Are you a father yet? How many kids? 2?
As I type this, we are in the middle of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. The number of new cases fell to below 200,000 yesterday (for the first time in about 4 weeks).
It's 5 days short of 3 months since you joined this company. It's been ... a strange journey so far. A lot less structured than I'm used to. I'm not sure what to make of it yet. Well, you knew it would be a different ride, perhaps a more challenging one compared to your previous job. That's why they're paying more. I hope you figured out how to make it work and that it got easier. I wonder if you'll be with the same company for 5 years -- probably not unless something worked out spectacularly well, I guess? Regardless, wherever you are, I hope you're happy. Only 20 more years to work before you retire ... yay!
Did you finally decide to buy a gaming PC? When? If yes, was it worth it? Do you get time to play? Have you already had to upgrade anything? If yes, SUCKER!
Anyway, I've run out of things to say. Hope you and everyone in the family is doing well.
Cheers.
