A letter from May 24th, 2021

hello nailah from 2026, here are some things about me in the 7th grade you might have forgotten. some things that I love are my backyard animals such as my chickens, turkeys, ducks, etc. I am very passionate about taking care of them and hoping they live up to their maximum age. some things that I dislike and annoy me are when people chew with their mouth open or breathe really loudly next to me. some things i like about myself is my really long hair and my body. i finally learned to be comfortable in my own body and just enjoy it. I am proud of myself for trying really hard in school even though a lot happens where i live i still manage to pass all my classes, it might not be with the best grade but i mean at least i tried and thats what matters at the end of the day. some things i wish i could change about myself are my teeth and also to not have my parents arguing anymore. my house im currently living in has red bricks, two garages, 4 bedroom and 3 bathroom, we bought a lot behind our house which has an acre and it came with a house so we remodeled it and now its a guest house. the school i attend to is the creekland middle school, the colors are green, black and white. the neighborhood i live in skyler lives here, grisselle also lives here and others of my friends such as vanessa, ella, mathew, bri. the houses here in my neighborhood have a lot of diversity. I do not have chores, we have a nanny which cleans up our house and also organizes the house. Technically, she is our maid but i don't call her that because it sounds disrespectful. some of my favorite possessions are my yearbooks, also my bed because my dad let me pick whichever one i desired from rooms to go. my favorite movie is caroline, my favorite book is the thief of always by clive barker. my favorite tv shows are that 70s show or gossip girl. my favorite food is creamy pasta alfredo with penne or mac and cheese. lastly, my favorite snacks are pirates booty, takis, and crackers with cheese. I spend my free time after school watching tiktoks or playing with my animals outside or even learning how to drive with my dad. I spend my weekend by going to different areas near buford such as top golf, rock n jump, mall or georgia, andretti, ect. I also spend my holidays with my family all together no matter where we are. the most fun i've had this year was going to my cousin's house and listening to a bunch of music and making videos, then it ended with all of us sleeping on one bed and my parents waking me up to say we are leaving. Yes i do have a crush, his name is andrew gregorio castellanos he is in the same grade as me but not in the same school as me, he lives about 40 minutes away and he goes to bay creek middle school. my teachers are frau ware, ms. heuermann, ms. aristilde, ms. szathmary, ms. lovett which is my favorite teacher and mr. swartzentruber. my best friends are my cousins hellen and karlid and i have some people who i socialize with such as sehar, zahria, allyson, pamela, salome, ana paula, ashley ect. I admire and respect my dad, even though everything we have gone through he has always had a big smile on his face and has always been there. I have a family of 7 including my 2 bigger sisters which have a daughter, my brother and younger sister and dad and mom and i can't forget about my sister emily, she died in 2013 due to brain cancer. rip emily. I am looking forward to having a lot of fun those years but also getting straight As and good grades. When I grow up i want to be a realtor and live in a penthouse in New York city. After I finish high school I plan to go to college for marketing. I'm not really dreading anything about the next four years, just that I feel like I will disappoint my parents and not get good grades. My favorite song is Wet Dreamz by J. Cole and some of my favorite artists are playboi carti, lil uzi, d savage, lil tecca. and that is all for now. hope you're doing well future self <33
