A letter from May 24th, 2021

Dear Future Me, Hi kacey I hope things are well. right now you are writing this letter during ur algebra 2 class so that you don't have to work on the semester exam review. Braxton asked you out yesterday and now you're dating but he is a *****, however he does have a pretty ****. kidding he's not a ***** at all, in fact he's quite perfect but you were making jokes that you would **** talk him. anyways I'm gonna answer some of the basic questions that the teacher gave us, you really like to paint even though u don't have a lot of time right now to do it and you love hanging out with friends ND smoking weed despite the fact you haven't done it in awhile, you don't have a job yet but are working on that and hopefully this summer will be full of summer love and late night hangouts and selling paintings. the important people in your life are Braxton obviously, he actually asked you out yesterday in Roanoke with a red sour ring pop, you almost ruined it bc you had to use the bathroom so bad, it took you abt 4 years to find a sould group of friends but now that you have you couldn't be happier they are taylor, kaedyn, olive, Rachel and bella g. your brothers are graduating this weekend and everyone is coming down for it. you have had a rough year let's not lie, your relationship with john was awful, you were assaulted and abused and you will probably always remember him but for all the wrong reasons. I'm so sorry I made you go through that. I hope we have learned to forgive ourselves and that we got the justice and closure we deserve. we also lost our good friend bella f. bc she **** shamed you abt being with john even though the things that happened to you weren't ur fault. you've changed so much since the beginning of this year and your happy now, you have a great boyfriend who truly cares for you and an amazing supportive group of friends, so congratulations. this school has been ******* insane. high school is everything yet not at all how I thought it would be at the exact same time. I'm just glad we took those dual credit classes even if they did whoop our ***. your personality right now is funny and bold but caring, you do have your off days with mental health and we are trying to figure out how to afford a therapist, I hope you got the help or are getting the help you need, and you aren't weak for going to therapy so don't feel like you have to be ashamed of it. your music taste is just like dad's honestly, sublime, cage the elephant, red hot chili peppers, nirvana, but you do love the modern artist like Olivia Rodrigo, willow, and the arctic monkeys. covid has been insane and your parents aren't allowing you to get the vaccine even though you really really want it. honestly 2020 was a crazy year and the beginning of 2021 was too. your career goals are to become a clinical psychologist and either go to UT or study in New York, i hope we found time to travel though. it says to make predictions about the future and honestly my prediction is that once we start college and our own life we will be so much happier, it will be hard as **** but we got it, we've been through so so much. I believe in us truthfully. I don't really know what to say besides I hope you are truly happy and that we have healed from our past and that the world is as beautiful as 17 year old you has made it out to be. we got this. I love you and remember you deserve everything and anything and ONLY the best. have a great day love.
