A letter from May 18th, 2021

Time Travelled — almost 5 years

Peaceful right?

Dear Future Dewi, Don't be suprised when you read this letter, it's 2021 now, and I'm writing to my future self in 2026. Have you become the person that you expected to be? Where do you live right now? Do you still have the same friends? No matter what happened, I wish you safe and sound. Do you still remember how hard you worked on school? Surely you didn't forget all the stress and anxiety you had during those years. Especially since Corona. How did that work out? Is it still going? I sincerely hope that you are hard working and that you have focus throughout your life. However don't take everything seriously, you have to relax when you can. During your teenage years, you have struggled with depression and anxiety a lot. Things were tough at home, and you felt like you were caged into your own house. Mom always tried to protect you from the world, but I certainly hope she has let you go at some point. I also hope that you can finally be happy, do the things you always wanted to do and follow your own rules. The world will keep you changing; you have to be strong enough to overcome every challenge in your life. Everything is possible, you need to encourage yourselve to try new things, or otherwise, you will be left behind. Don't be afraid of failures, learn from your mistakes, be confident about yourself, keep trying, never give up. I believe you will definitely become a succesful person. By 2026, you should probably have a consistent job. It should be something you are passionated about, as I know you can't focus on something you are not interested in. Besides, you should have a happy household (boyfriend, friends?) I'm very curious to know where you life right now and with who. This may sound bad, but I hope that you have moved out from your parents home and found maybe an appartment where you live, maybe with Inge, other friends or maybe even a boyfriend :) Just some people that will always support and help you with whatever. Whenever you're tired, just go to home and then everything will get better. Just keep in mind, you are strong enough to carry yourselve through life. Good luck! Dewi 18-05-2021
