Dear FutureMe,
I've got no idea where you're going to college, but I know we checked out Cleveland a lot. If we got in, congrats. If not? No worries, wherever we go we have our creativity. This is supposed to be 5 years in the future, so here goes. Reminiscing high school is cool I guess. Band was fun for freshman year, but Mrs. Hyatt was kind of a bully. Glad we left, don't you start regretting it either. People pressure you to but we had pretty good reasons to leave. It's different when it's your peers bullying you- but all of your band directors? No way. We barely made it as it was. It was incredibly fun, but v e r y hard. Sophomore year was better I think, you moved to Sugar Land mid-year (on Halloween) and you were still talking to your friends from Waco at that point, which was nice. You had a few friends, talked to people on the bus sometimes. Your neighbors were…well, I'm pretty sure you remember February of 2020. Yeah, that. You were very sad. Spring break came around, and so did COVID-19. You spent the rest of your sophomore year and the entirety of your junior year (currently, for me) in the house. In front of a computer. Your friends went to the Color Factory without you, and it sucked. Because you lived less than 30 minutes away. And they knew that, didn't tell you, and posted pictures about it…aka, how you found out. You talked to no one junior year. You didn't have friends. But you always had your art. Make it stay that way. No matter how life goes, the two crutches you can count on no matter what is your mama (and family), and your art. I don't know how senior year went, you tell me (because- I am late junior year you)
Took the sat,, made a 940. Probably gotta redo, but that's fine.
I would like to go to an art college, so wherever you ended up, I hope you focused on your dream.
We love astronomy, but that's a much more difficult profession. We are built and geared for art- don't forget it.
I hope that you made friends. You're really lonely. And people scare you. Learn to trust someone, anyone, but make a friend.
I hope you and mama are still friends too, and that you're able to talk to your siblings. You love them with all your heart.
