A letter from May 14th, 2021

Time Travelled — almost 5 years

Peaceful right?

Hi Luv, I hope you are doing well. Right now, I am writing this letter to you. In Jane Benson's class, listening to slow it down by the Lumineer's. Thinking about graduation in a couple of days from Forman. This summer, you are going to work at Chewonki with the hopes of getting new experiences and build your outdoor knowledge. It's quite crazy that in 8 days, you will be leaving and starting on a new path with brand new teachers, friends, and new places. You and Joel are still together. It's been one year and 4 months. I sure as hell hope you guys are going strong. He is the best man you will probably ever meet, and he would make one hell of a dad. His blond hair and green eyes brighten up every room he walks into. I really hope that you are still rock climbing and submitting mountains. I hope that you are alive and well. I hope that you are eating enough and worry less about the calories. I hope you are not cutting yourself. I pray that you have not taken the fatal route. You and Joel have both worked so hard for you to be the person you are, and for you to jump wouldn't make sense. Everyone would be lost without you. You are a good person who loves intensely, and everyone sees it. It doesn't matter if you get awards for it, you outwork everyone, and they all see it. Please keep doing that. You are a silent leader, and people gravitate to it. Remember to breathe and be mindful of your anger. It's okay to make mistakes, but it affects the people around you negatively when you get angry. Drink some water, queen. You are probably dehydrated and go for a run. It will make you feel so much better. I love you endlessly. You are beautiful, loving, smart, hilarious, and have a great body. What more could you ask for? LOL In all seriousness, please take care of yourself and kiss Joel. He loves when you do that. Your younger self admiring the person you are today. "Be good to your mothers, they did the best they could You'd better bleed for your brothers, lord knows that they would."
