Dear FutureMe,
Alhamdulilah.
I feel simultaneously very strong and hopeful about my potential as a Human Being. I was given some excellent news today by my orthodontist. She said that MaxFax Ops are scheduled for May AND that I am #15 on the waiting list. I am trying not to set my expectations too high, but I am hopeful about having my operation completed by the years end - B'ithn'Allahi Ta'ala.
I have outlined Stephen Covey's 7 Habits and my goodness, it is the book that I have needed to read but never have. It truly is a complete guide to becoming not only an effective human being but one of integrity and principle. One who has others' respect and who respects himself. I am excited to get into it once my exams are over.
I visualize a future for myself, which is meaningful, deep and service-orientated. I realize that there are fears and demons that I will need to overcome. I take 100% responsibility on having that future - I cannot blame others for not having the courage, the fortitude and drive to commit myself to that end.
You who are reading this. I hope you realise just how far you have come and how far you have to go. Don't allow the world to dullen your dreams of providing value to people. Do whatever it is you need to do, however drastic, to become an individuated person who has the capability of being that person you envision.
I realise that a lot of life is based upon scripting. Games People Play, 7 Habits, Robert Greene, Mental Health Issues agree that people play out patterns in life. If you have control over the patterns you have control over your destiny. Change. Alchemising yourself from lower to higher. Life is intensely spiritual.
Hope you're getting after it Adeel. Don't allow yourself to live a mediocre life when you have so much inside you to give.
Remember *****. You don't want to be on your deathbed regretful of taking risks.
P.S If you're married - Hi future wife (You have chosen well) :P, please, support this guy and don't be afraid to tell him truths that he doesn't like to hear. I hope you are happy with him as a Husband. x
Love ya. Adeel from a few years ago (Middle of Ramadan 2021)
