A letter from Apr 29th, 2021

Dear FutureMe, Today is April 29th, 2021. I'm turning 16 in 4 days!!!! We are still in 'quarantine' however many restrictions have been lifted. It's the 17th day of Ramadan. I am currently writing this while in communications with Mr. Bartolacci. Online learning is annoying but at the same time, it's fine because I barely pay attention or do anything. Covid honestly messed up so much for everyone ughh. I just went on my first trip without any parents a few weeks ago to California with Baji and Ayaana and it was so much fun! I'm also currently on the YCS Varsity Girls Tennis Team. We have a game today against Pioneer but I think it might get canceled because it's raining (hopefully it will). I play doubles 3 with Aamina Hussain and I think we are pretty good together. We played Detroit Renaissance two days ago and we almost won! They just don't know how to call outs ughh. Dada and Dadi live with us still and Nana and Nani come over for iftar every night. I just took my PSAT yesterday at school and it sucked. Hopefully, I get a good grade on the real one! Also, I got a job at holiday market and I start a few days after Eid (I start May 16th I think). And my debit card should be coming in the mail in a few days so I'm super excited about that!!!! I'm on the yearbook exec board and we are wrapping up this year's yearbook (It's Netflix themed and I chose it) so I've been really busy with that. I still don't have a real phone, so hopefully, I will have one by the time I read this again! When I get this, I should be almost 21, so Rumaysa, live your life to the fullest! Hopefully, you aren't as broke as I am right now and treat yourself to some new shoes or something. If you have already met a guy that you like, go you! And if he likes you back, double points! Do you still live in Michigan? Do you have your own apartment? Who are your best friends at this point in life? What are you majoring in? I literally don't know what I want to major in but whatever. Ok, I'm gonna go and read some more books on Wattpad and watch TikTok as I have for the past year and a half during quarantine lol. Good luck with whatever you are going through right now.
