Time Travelled — almost 5 years

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, I remember the past with our past case COVID-19. Many people lost jobs and many families lost their loved ones. The pandemic was the center and the awakening to see and learn how it affected many people in lack of having a home, lack of food, and mostly lack of money. We remember children being separated and put into cages. We remember the women's march where women have to fight to have control over their body. We remember the ones who died because of police brutality and how this brutality affects Black lives daily. We remember the past and we use it to teach others. In five years I hope I am fighting for social justice. I hope am being real with myself and my students about topics that are surrounding on world. I hope that I am calling out and explaining what diversity it is. I hope that I am setting my classroom standards that anyone that walks through my door is going to be respected no matter where they come from or how they look. I want my classroom to be a place where my students feel safe. You will have high expectations for each of your students and you will push them to be successful. You will not leave any of your students behind and you will not give up on them. You will help your students with resources and help them be prepared to the real world. I hope you are helping your students and incorporating all these things in your classroom. Remember teach with kindness and just like teachers mentioned to you in the past that you were the future now your students are the future.
