A letter from March 27th, 2021

Dear FutureMe, Hey you’ve just turned 18 on the day you’re writing this. However old you are now. Happy birthday! I hope you live long enough to have come to appreciate how great life is. You have to remind yourself that all external things do not matter in the long run. I hope you would instead focus more on the relationships you cultivate. People around you are important, and they are always going through something you wouldn’t know. So support them and give them love. Give them flowers and letters for the sake of it. Your past future is building this as a tradition. Every Friday, you do a random act of kindness, to closed ones and strangers. Another lesson I would have wanted you to learned by now is gratitude. See things at a perspective that is filled with love and kindness. Everything that happened, is happening or will happen, happened/happens for a reason! Trust the process. Trust yourself to handle challenges. Trust that with grit, you will be able to realise your potential. Whatever your dreams are, pursue it fully. Don’t for a second, waste your time with stupid activities. Life is too ******* short for that. Here’s my external goals in 5 years time. 1. Fluent in French/Spanish 2. Travel to Belgium 3. Make my own NGO surrounding books and education 4. Visit NYC again 5. Be involved in films and make my own 6. Read 80 classics 7. Have a steady relationship with a guy i love. Here’s my internal goals in 5 years time. 1. Develop grit 2. Practice mindfulness daily 3. Be more tidy 4. Be more patient
